My Story

I was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Speaking French, eating bread, all kinds of breads....


Fast forward to my thirties, I was living in China on a rice and veggies mostly diet, and upon retunring home, I ate bread at every occasion -I'd miss it so much. Bread could be the center of any meal, or literally just be the meal. Like toast, with stuff on it. That's the greatest meal. But it made me sick. Maybe form not having any (gluten) for years in China, who knows. But I couldn't have it anymore it made me too sick, even in the tiniest quantity.


I put breads/ gluten aside for a few years after such disappointment in commercial GF options. But I missed toast so much. Breakfast (and lunch and snacks and dinner) just isn't the same. So I set my self the goal to make GF breads that meet the expectation, mine at least. Wholesome, healthy, chewy, complex, right-sized...


Fast forward a couple more years and I had my 4 favorite breads that could supply all my needs and support all the "stuff" I like to layer on. No gluten, no eggs or dairy, all wholegrains. A sourdough-like fermented for 7 days, a simple but brioche-y one for breakfast sandwiches (or tomato toast) a dark pumpernickel-like one with body to support strong flavors (or avocado toast), and a renown breakfast-toast full of nuts and seeds I adapted from Josey Baker.


I've been strictly eating these breads for a couple of years and sharing with friends and the community. Once my business license and all the official steps were done to create Pleasure Point Bakery, I started working on the Monster Cookies to fill that sweet, yet still wholesome tooth. We ate a lot of trial cookies in 2020... but I got to 4 recipes I'm really proud of and can never have enough of. It seems everyone just struggles to choose their favorite, which is great!!


I'm here to contribute to people's healthy living choices, to add pleasure to your plate and flavors to your life. Having allergies means there's a lot you can't have, but it doesn't have to mean you can't have toasts and deeply enjoyable bread and cookies :)


Of course, everyone can eat my products, you don't need to have allergies to celebrate health and delicious food simultaneously. And preferably every day.
