My name is Katie Maschoff and I'm the owner of Mill City Cooking Company. For as long as I can remember, I've been in the kitchen. Growing up I loved learning to cook and bake with my Grandmother or my parents. I was lucky enough to grow up in a household that enjoyed cooking together, as a family. That's where my love for cooking became ingrained in my life. I was able to hone my craft while working in several well known restaurants in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Minneapolis. While working in those kitchens, watching The Food Network, and obsessing over Ina Garten's new cookbooks, I dreamed of creating a business that I could call my own.

Then 2020 happened. A global pandemic, the restaurant industry was shutdown and I had a little bit of extra time on my hands. I was able to gather all of my recipes, test out the best ones, and out came Mill City Cooking Company. I wanted a name that said where I'm from, I live right across the Mississippi River from the Mill City Ruins in downtown Minneapolis. I thought perfect! I've lived on the west coast, the east coast, but I came home. Mill City Cooking Company's name represents my love for the city and state where I grew up and made such wonderful memories in the kitchen. I'm proud to be a Minnesotan and a local business.

I specialize in making custom cakes, cupcakes, and cookies for any celebration. I would say that my chocolate cake is by far my favorite cake to make and eat! It is so moist, delicious, and decadent. I love making cakes and cupcakes for little kid's birthday parties. I sometimes receive photos from the parties and I get to see the look on the kiddos faces when they first see their special cake. It is a look of pure amazement and joy! Makes the hard work, time, and precision totally worth it.

My vision has always been to create food that makes people smile and bring families, friends and loved ones together. The act of creating brings me joy and I hope you feel that when enjoying some of my baked goods at home.

I am currently selling cookies, cupcakes, and custom made cakes ranging from simple 6"-12" cakes to elegant and fun two-three tiered cakes! All cakes are made to especially fit your needs or the needs of your loved ones. Submit for a quote below.
