About Me: Sometimes it takes a long time to start doing what you wish you had done your whole career. Since living in San Francisco as a young child, Sourdough Bread has been my favorite food. After I moved to New Jersey, Bagels quickly became my second favorite food. After college, I went to Culinary School. I then worked for almost 25 years as a cook, chef, and private chef. While I enjoyed this work, something was always missing. During Covid, I found myself a stay at home dad living in the midwest, longing for the good bread and bagels I had been used to. I also wanted to make healthy bread for my daughter. I used a bread machine for a while. (It really does make good bread!). After a while, it was time to pull out the bread cookbooks I had been collecting and get to it. A starter was made and my life changed. I quickly realized that baking sourdough bread was what I wanted to do with the rest of my career. For a few years, I've been learning more and more, while giving away a lot of bread and bagels. This cottage bakery allows me to share what I love doing most, baking bread for others.
