What is a cakewich?
I was way too old the first time I was told that there is a correct way to eat a cupcake. I thought that frosting up your nose was the only method, but it turns out that nostrils everywhere can be spared. They say that you are supposed to remove the bottom half of the cupcake and place it on top of the frosting to make a sandwich. Genius. I realized not only is this much less messy, it also gives you the most perfect cake-to-frosting-to-topping ratio. This is where the idea of the cakewich was born. You get all the benefits of the cupcake hack without the trouble of having to tear anything in half. We will do that for you. These amazing treats start with two disks of tender chocolate or vanilla cake that are filled with delicious frosting and, if you wish, finished with your choice of toppings. It is a much more streamlined way to enjoy cupcakes. Parents, party hosts, and classroom teachers everywhere will rejoice.
What is a cakie?
Just like the greatest mashups of all time, a cakie is our union of cake and cookies. It looks like a cookie and tastes like cake. It is the perfect product for anyone who might not be a fan of frosting or who needs a companion for their morning coffee. Americans have been eating cake for breakfast for generations and calling them muffins, so these can slide onto the breakfast table without judgement. Cakies are a delicious treat eaten as is, but they can also be used to make your own ice cream sandwiches at home or to be used for a party to create an interactive “do it yourself” cakewich bar. They are easy to transport and make wonderful treats for meetings and classrooms.
About the owners
Amber and Emily met in 2014 in a busy retail pharmacy where they worked together for 4 years. They successfully ran the pharmacy and became good friends in the process. They realized that if they could turn that chaos into a well-oiled machine, they could do just about anything. In fact, in the midst of processing prescriptions, their conversation often gravitated to what their dream jobs would be if they actually had the chance to do anything. Fast forward 8 years, and they are now both busy moms who are not just dreaming anymore. They are ready to turn the dream of being able to make a living out of their respective passions into a reality.
Amber is a pharmacy technician who has a passion for connecting with people on social media platforms and staying ahead of what is trending. She has always had a talent for commanding the attention of a room in person, and this translates into her presence online. Her comments on celebrity postings have attracted attention from the celebrity on several occasions earning both reactions and returned comments, and she posts creative content continually. As the social media manager and marketing specialist, Amber will not only be able to effectively spread the word about these wonderful products, she will give customers a front row seat to what Ella’s has to offer every day.
Emily is a pharmacist who has had a passion for baking since childhood. Even while busy in college, she spent any free time she had searching for recipes to test and tweak. She started writing her own recipes after graduating, and she self-published a cookbook in 2009. She has earned rave reviews selling custom cakes and other desserts off and on ever since. The taste testers who have been a part of the development of the Ella’s cakewich and cakie cannot get enough of these treats. Emily will use her expertise and love of creating new recipes to continually bring delicious and exciting products to our customers.
