eclaire's

A musician turned baker simply trying to share some of your favorite things!

A little about eclaire....

Hi, I’m  eclaire ! No seriously, that’s my name. Well, kind of, it’s a combination of my first and middle name, but I promise if you looked at my birth certificate it would make sense. Anyways, I just wanted to share a little bit about myself so that I am not a total stranger to those that might buy these sweet treats and also because I might not be able to meet most customers in person and I want eclaire’s to be a personable business. I am currently in my twenties still trying to figure out life and what all I want to do after spending 6 years getting a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in trumpet performance. Yes, you read that correct. Outside of baking I have learned and honed a craft to technically be a professional musician. What’s funny though was the fact that trumpet actually was what led me to baking. I always liked baking as a kid, granted it was very simple, small things. But I did find myself loving the kitchen in my later college years. As a music student studying to perform I would have to be a part of many performances or listen to a lot of shows and I realized while attending UNCSA for my master’s, receptions were rare. Honestly, they never happened. So I started to just bake for the trumpet studio that I was in and any time someone had a solo recital I would prepare a reception for them filled with their favorite homemade baked goods. It became traditional for the next two years and before I knew it, word went out about how a trumpet player could bake. Outside of school I self taught myself how to make anything ranging from cookies, bars, brownies, to even cakes. Back then it was quite literally just a hobby until I had my own professor’s and colleagues telling me to open up a bakery and strangely enough, the idea resonated so well with me that it now has become a life goal.  eclaire’s  will start for now as an online business to get the name out there and to help get a grounding for how things could play out for the baking side of the business, but hopefully sometime in the future, eclaire’s could actually be in person in an actual building! With that in mind, there are other ideas and goals for eclaire’s that just simply can’t be produced just yet as an online only business at the moment, but when it becomes in person, we hope to see it become an adaptable cafe/bar where live music will perform throughout the day, local artists can display their art and where we can become a place that also supports animals. I know, trust me, it’s a lot and it might not all make sense right now- but that’s the masterplan so far, combining a few of everyone’s favorite things into one place <3
