2023 Dates
- February 18, 12:30 pm-3:30 pm, National Drink Wine Day (sold out)
- March 11, 12:30 pm-3:30 pm, National Flour Month (sold out)
- April 1, 12:30 pm-3:30 pm, National Sourdough Bread Day (2 places remaining)
During this in-person class, you will
- learn all about sourdough starter and how to use it
- get your hands in the dough to create a delicious and slightly tangy miche, aka boule -- the classic round loaf whose crumb is delicate and whose crust is as crispy or as tender as you choose
- knead, proof, score and bake your loaf in a dutch oven
- discover how to store sourdough bread. One of the advantages of using sourdough starter is that your loaf will have a longer shelf life (if you have any leftovers, that is)
What do you need to bring with you?
- Nothing! I will provide all the materials and ingredients needed, plus some sparkling wine (non-alcoholic available, too), water, and coffee to keep us refreshed and as bubbly as the starter!
At the end of class, you will get
- a freshly baked 2-pound loaf
- a reusable, recyclable, machine-washable, plastic-free, sustainable, 100% cotton drawstring bread bag
- a jar of sourdough starter to take home, feed, and use for a lifetime,
- an instruction and recipe booklet
Space is limited to 4 participants.
$47 per person.
3-hour class.
